This policy sets out what you may not do with the hosted VAKYN Service. It is part of the Terms of Service. It applies to everyone in your organization and to every API key. The open-source code and weights you run yourself are governed by their licenses, not this policy, but we ask you to follow it there too.
Decisions about people
VAKYN gives every answer a probability, so it can show when it is unsure, but its answers can still be wrong. You may not use it as the only basis for decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on a person, including decisions about:
- employment, hiring, firing or pay;
- credit, lending, insurance or housing;
- education, admission or grading;
- access to healthcare, benefits or essential services;
- law enforcement, immigration, or court and legal proceedings.
For these, a qualified person must review the decision and be able to change it. You must also tell people when the law requires you to disclose automated decision-making.
Prohibited uses
You may not use the Service to:
- break any law, or help someone else break one;
- discriminate against people based on protected characteristics such as race, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age;
- profile or monitor people without a lawful basis, including covert surveillance, or infer sensitive traits such as health, sexual orientation or political views without their consent;
- create, find or share child sexual abuse material, or harm or exploit minors in any way;
- plan or support violence, terrorism, or the development of weapons capable of mass casualties;
- run fraud, scams, phishing or deceptive impersonation;
- develop or deliver malware, or attack the security of any system;
- harass, threaten or bully people;
- infringe intellectual property or privacy rights, including by sending documents you have no right to process.
Using the Service fairly
You may not:
- share, sell or publish API keys, or resell access to the hosted Service without a written agreement with us;
- get around balance checks, rate limits or other technical limits, or create accounts to collect promotional credit more than once;
- probe, scan or load-test the Service, or try to get into accounts or systems that are not yours, without our written permission;
- interfere with the Service or other users, for example by sending traffic meant to degrade it.
Reporting and enforcement
Report misuse or a security problem to vali@vakyn.com. If we find a breach of this policy we may warn you, remove access for a key, suspend an organization, or close an account, as set out in the Terms of Service. Where we have to act at once to protect people or the Service, we will tell you afterwards.
We may update this policy. Material changes are announced as described in the Terms of Service.
